Truffle Chips, Chocolate Hazelnut Bars, and Amarettinis: A Complete Look at the November 2020 Box
Italy! What a culinary icon. I’ve been to Italy once — but only briefly. I was on a day trip to Venice as part of a larger tour around Europe, and I’ve desperately wanted to go back ever since and properly explore everything the country has to offer. And of course, try all the food!
I may not be able to go back to Italy just yet, but I was excited to get the chance to at least bring my taste buds back with this Yums Box. …
Chilli Chatka, Pineapple Sandwich Biscuits, and Rol-a-Cola: A Complete Look at the October 2020 Crate
Since my first two boxes (Canada and Road Trip) were not exactly all that far from home, I was really looking forward to finally getting some overseas snacks. I also absolutely love Indian food, but haven’t really had any Indian snacks before so I was extremely excited for this crate!
This crate, alongside my Halloween crate, unfortunately did get delayed due to a random customs inspection so it came much later than I anticipated. …
Gummy Eyeballs, Monster Munch and Zombie Chews: A Complete Look at the Spooky Snacks in the 2020 Halloween Crate
Do I have a subscription addiction now? Probably. When the limited edition add-on Halloween crate went on sale, how could I not reserve one for spooky season!
The 2020 Halloween Crate promised 12 snacks from 7 different countries. Unfortunately, there were a few hiccups with the service this time around. My box (and many others it seemed, judging from the comments on SnackCrate’s instagram posts) was delayed. While it originally said it would ship out about 10 days before Halloween, the date got pushed back and then ultimately I received an email stating my box was delayed due to random inspections at customs. …
Chocolate Hazelnut Wafers, Sovietsky Cheese Chips and Exotic Fruit Jellies: A Complete Look at the October 2020 Box
I’ve been having so much fun sampling international snacks from all over the world with my SnackCrate subscription, after being bombarded with Instagram ads for Universal Yums I succumbed and forked over a chunk of my bank account’s contents for a second subscription.
Universal Yums is, for all intents and purposes, almost identical to SnackCrate. Of course, they pick different countries to feature every month and there are differences in the ways they do services (different shipping schedules and policies etc). When I initially signed up, for my first box I was given the choice between Colombia or Russia — I had seen that Russia was the current themed box anyway, and it was the food that interested me a bit more, so I went with that one. I also selected the “Yum Yum box” — the medium size, about the same size as the boxes I already get from SnackCrate. …
Crab Chips, Prickly Pear Candy, and Tuna Jerky: A Complete Look at the September 2020 Crate
When I subscribed to SnackCrate, in addition to my starter box I was given the option to get the current month’s box as well. How could I say no?
After enjoying my Canadian starter crate, I could not wait for my next box to arrive! For September 2020, the box was USA Road Trip, featuring regional snacks found in different parts of the country. …
Maple Lollipop, Ketchup chips and Rosewater gum: A Complete Look at What I got in my first Crate
Bored and unable to travel during quarantine, I recently stumbled upon the world of subscription snack boxes. If I can’t travel during quarantine, I could still satisfy my adventurous cravings if the international snacks could come to me. …
